Q. I've heard about magnets, pills, and other forms of making my gas last longer... do these work?
A. In english: No. In spanish: No.
These are made by people for the purpose of getting your money. People all over the world are looking for ways to save money, and in that desperate time of "needing" to save money, people can become a little naive. People who sell those "gas pills" and magnets are just taking advantage of people. So again, NO, these DO NOT WORK.

Q. Air conditionion, windows, will these reduce my mpg?
A. Yes, but not by much.
Having your windows down creates more drag resistance with your vehicle, which means it has to work a little bit hard to keep moving forward. But there isn't a huge difference in MPG.
Using your A/C at maximum blast will make your engine run harder, and will usually cost you about 1 MPG more than usual. But keeping it at a mid to low speed will not cost you too much.
I suggest this. Driving around town (slower speeds), use your windows. There is very little drag in town speeds. But for highways, the A/C and windows would equal to about the same MPG usage. So that's up to you.

Q. Do gas additives give me better gas mileage?
A. Many people think so, but the reality is they just don't work.
"There have been tests done. Consumer Reports have done studies. And there's really no evidence to prove those additives save you or improve your gas mileage," Bevi Powell, a spokesperson for AAA.

Q. Does the octane of the gas make a difference?
A. It turns out, octane does not make a difference in your gas mileage. Unless your owner's manual says to use premium, regular unleaded is fine.
